Tanzania, May 15 -- IMPROVEMENTS and private sector involvement at the Dar es Salaam Port have resulted in an increase in customs revenue collection to 8.26tri/- for the period between July 2024 and February 2025.
Minister for Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa, revealed this today, May 15, 2025, while presenting the ministry's budget estimates for the 2025/26 financial year in Parliament.
Prof. Mbarawa said the government has continued partnering with private companies, including DP World and Tanzania East Africa Gateway Terminal Limited (TEAGTL), to boost port operations.
"The partnerships have facilitated the acquisition of modern equipment and advanced ICT systems that have improved the efficiency of port services," he said.
