Dar es Salaam, Sept. 18 -- AS the nation approaches the General Election scheduled for 29th October, it is important to reflect on the challenges that arise on our roads during this busy campaign period.
The excitement and energy that characterise election season should inspire unity and hope, yet the realities on our highways often paint a different picture, one of increased risk and avoidable accidents.
Campaign convoys, vibrant with colours and voices, traverse villages and towns, bringing political messages closer to the people.
However, the nature of such movements, frequent stops, large numbers of vehicles, and heightened activity— can contribute to congestion and, regrettably, unsafe situations on the roads.
