Dar es Salaam, Feb. 4 -- DAR ES SALAAM – President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been honoured with the Gates Goalkeepers Award, in recognition of her exceptional leadership and Tanzanias remarkable progress in reducing maternal mortality by 80 percent.

Under her leadership, the Tanzanian government has significantly increased funding for health services, expanded the availability of medicines and medical supplies, and constructed over 530 delivery centres to reduce maternal mortality, infant deaths, and fatalities among children under five years old.
