Dar es Salaam, Oct. 14 -- MWANZA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan and other top government officials including Vice President Dr Philip Mpango attended a Memorial Service for the Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere at the Roman Catholic Churchs St. Francis Xavier Nyakahoja Parish in Mwanza on Monday.

Today, Tanzanians are observing the 25th anniversary of remembering the first President, who died at St Thomas Hospital in London, United Kingdom on October 14, 1999.

Speaking on behalf of the President, Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango urged the church and the nation to continue praying for peace, emphasizing its importance for the countrys development.
