Dar es Salaam, April 14 -- DODOMA: DODOMA Regional Police Force has launched a new electronic registration system aimed at curbing the widespread theft of mobile phones and other electronic devices in the region.
The system, developed in collaboration with mobile phone technicians and electronics vendors, mandates the registration of all devices brought in for repair or sale.
Details to be recorded include the device model, the customers National ID (NIDA) number and the devices serial or registration number.
