DODOMA, Jan. 31 -- PRIME Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba has assured Tanzanians that the country has a sufficient food reserve of over 250,000 tonnes, despite unsatisfactory rainfall in some regions.
He explained that while the national food reserve requirement is 150,000 tonnes, the country currently holds more than 400,000 tonnes in storage, ensuring stability and food security.
However, he cautioned citizens, particularly in areas experiencing scattered and low rainfall, to focus on planting crops that can withstand dry conditions.
He also urged people to manage their food stocks wisely to maintain adequate reserves.
