MWANZA, Jan. 23 -- PRME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has directed officials at the Regional Search and Rescue Coordination Centre in Mwanza to ensure the facility operates 24 hours with high efficiency.
The centre, which costs approximately 19.8bn/-, aims to strengthen search and rescue services, particularly for activities taking place in the Lake Zone.
The directive was issued today, January 23, 2026, during the Prime Ministers inspection visit to the facility. He emphasized that rescue services are lifesaving operations and warned that there will be zero tolerance for negligence, drowsiness, or delays in assisting when needed.
