Dar es Salaam, April 15 -- DODOMA: THE government through the Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) in collaboration with the Njombe regional administration has completed the assessment of a new site in the TANWAT area for the construction of a new airport, which is expected to easy air transportation and boost economic growth in the area.

Deputy Minister for Transport Mr David Kihenzile told the National Assembly that the government is aware of the importance of a modern airport in Njombe region and that plans are already in place to start the construction.
