DODOMA, June 13 -- THE government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing clean and safe water to all rural Tanzanians, including residents of Songambele Ward in Kyerwa District, Kagera Region.

Deputy Minister for Water, Engineer Mathew Kundo, gave the assurance yesterday in the National Assembly while responding to a question from Kyerwa MP Innocent Bilakwate (CCM), who sought clarity on when a water project would be launched in Songambele Ward.

Engineer Kundo said the government has already completed the drilling of a deep well and constructed basic infrastructure through the Special Programme for Drilling 900 Boreholes, enabling residents in Songambele to begin accessing water services.
