DAR ES SALAAM, July 30 -- The Ministry of Health has received medical equipment for breast cancer services worth about 569.7m/- from Jhpiego Tanzania through its BEAT Breast Cancer project.
The equipment was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Seif Shekalaghe at the ministrys sub-offices in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, where he noted that the equipment will help in the early detection of breast cancer and facilitate timely treatment- an important step in reducing deaths caused by the disease.

He mentioned the donated equipment as 31 ultrasound machines, over 10,000 biopsy needles for breast cancer testing, and 31 trolleys for carrying the machines.
