Dar es Salaam, March 7 -- ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR President Hussein Mwinyi has asked the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to support Zanzibar in advancing its blue economy agenda, stressing its significant role in economic growth and peoples well-being.
Speaking during a meeting with UNESCO delegation led by Director-General Audrey Azoulay at the State House, President Mwinyi expressed the governments commitment to utilise the blue economy.
He said: “We need additional technical expertise, modern technology and financial aid to ensure the sectors sustainability and enable Zanzibar to fully utilise its abundant marine resources.”
