ZANZIBAR, Nov. 8 -- ZANZIBAR President, Dr Hussein Mwinyi has appointed seven individuals to serve as members of the Zanzibar House of Representatives, in accordance with powers bestowed upon him under the 1984 edition of the Zanzibar Constitution.
According to the Constitution, the President of Zanzibar is allowed to nominate up to 10 individuals whom he considers suitable to join the House, following the general election. The latest appointments come after the October 29, 2025 general election, in which the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) was declared the winner and formed the new Government of National Unity (GNU).
