DODOMA, Nov. 14 -- PRESIDENT  Samia Suluhu Hassan has officially sworn in Mwigulu Nchemba as the new Prime Minister of Tanzania for the first five-year term.

President Samia appointed Dr Nchemba as prime minister on October 13, and he was approved by parliament.

After administering oaths to the new Prime Minister, the President is expected to soon name members of her cabinet.

The colourful event was attended by various leaders and public figures including the former President, Jakaya Kikwete, former Vice President, Philip Mpango, former Prime Ministers, Kassim Majaliwa and Mizengo Pinda.
