MWANZA, Jan. 27 -- MWANZA Region, in collaboration with the Tanzania Forest Services (TFS), has planted 12,758 trees to support President Samia Suluhu Hassans decision to celebrate her birthday by planting trees.
The move aims to conserve the environment and protect the planet while leaving a legacy for future generations.
The announcement was made today, January 27, 2026, by Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Said Mtanda, after participating in the planting of over 1,200 trees at the New Kakebe-Igoma Secondary School in Nyamagana District. The tree-planting drive began at the office of the Ilemela District Commissioner and concluded at the school.
