DAR ES SALAAM, May 31 -- THE Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has named Simba SC striker Steven Mukwala as the Mainland Premier League Player of the Month for May, while Simba Head Coach Fadlu Davids has been awarded Coach of the Month.

Mukwala impressed the awards committee with his consistent form, edging out fellow finalists Jean Charles Ahoua (also of Simba) and Jafari Kibaya from Mashujaa FC.

The Ugandan forward scored three goals and recorded assistance in four matches played during the month.

For coach Fadlu, he guided Simba to a perfect run in May, winning all five matches played.
