DAR ES SALAAM, Jan. 27 -- THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has said that revenue collections through the customs department have increased to 1.2tr/- per month, up from an earlier average of 800bn/-.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam, the TRA Commissioner General Yusuph Mwenda during the celebration of World Customs Day noted that the increase is due to significant government investments, including the purchase of 57 specialized scanners worth 90m US Dollars , aimed at strengthening cargo inspections at the countrys borders.
