DAR ES SALAAM, June 27 -- THE Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) has officially launched cargo transportation services via the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), marking a significant step in the modernization of the countrys logistics sector.

A statement issued on Thursday by TRCs Head of Information and Public Relations, Fredy Mwanjala, confirmed that the service begins with one daily cargo train.

According to the schedule, the train will depart from Pugu Station at 4:00 a.m., make a scheduled stop in Morogoro at 6:00 a.m. to allow the passage of passenger trains, and is expected to arrive in Dodoma at 2:05 p.m.
