DODOMA, Nov. 24 -- THE government is taking decisive measures to ensure ongoing rains do not disrupt transport services, particularly in areas affected by environmental challenges, the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) has said.
During an inspection tour of emergency road works, TANROADS Chief Executive Eng Mohamed Besta said the government had prioritised strengthening infrastructure to reduce the impact of the rainy season on mobility and economic activity.
He made the remarks at Mbande in Kongwa District, Dodoma Region, where TANROADS has completed major improvements on a road section previously prone to damage during heavy rains.
