DAR ES SALAAM, Jan. 6 -- The Health Minister, Mohamed Mchengerwa, has urged the board of trustees of the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) to ensure that it becomes Africas cancer authority due to the presence of people, patients and clinical experience accumulated over several decades.

Minister Mchengerwa said this in Dar es Salaam during a visit and launch of the board of trustees of the Ocean Road Cancer Institute.

Mchengerwa said the city of Dar es Salaam is likely to become a larger one that will carry various challenges and opportunities, so national institutions like ORCI should not be mediocre and instead become Africas cancer authority.
