Dar es Salaam, March 10 -- MBEYA: MBEYA City delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Songea United at Sokoine Stadium, fuelling the excitement in the Championship League promotion battle.
The hosts seized control early, with Adili Buha opening the scoring in the 5th minute. Willy Mgaya doubled the lead in the 16th minute and Riphat Msuya sealed the win with a third goal in the 76th minute.
This victory propelled Mbeya City to second place, tied with Stand United at 46 points from 22 games, although goal average places Mbeya City ahead. The two trail league leaders Mtibwa Sugar, who have 54 points, by eight points.
