Dar es Salaam, March 4 -- SUMBAWANGA: POLICE in Rukwa have arrested Egidius Abdallah, 25, for allegedly strangling his lover, Caren Ngowi, 29, following accusations of theft.

Regional Police Commander (RPC), Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Shadrack Masija, confirmed the incident during a media briefing in Sumbawanga.

The suspect, a resident of Kashai in Sumbawanga Municipality, allegedly killed Ngowi, who resided in Namanyere town, Nkasi District.

According to the RPC, the incident occurred on the night of February 17th at Ngusa Lodge in Namanyere town. “Carens body was discovered in one of the lodge rooms on February 18th at noon. The suspect strangled her with his bare hands,” stated Masija.
