DAR ES SALAAM, Jan. 15 -- FORMER First Lady, Salma Kikwete, has said there is a pressing need for the society to work together in fighting an increasing habit of uttering abusive language in public places.

Mama Salma, who is also a Member of Parliament (Special Seats), said the boorish behaviour posed a huge threat to the country's younger generations.

She made the remarks at Zinga village in Bagamoyo District, Coast Region recently during a public meeting organised by Umoja wa Wanawake Tanzania (UWT) in Bagamoyo District.

Mama Salma was responding to a school teacher Ms Luciana Magige's concern after she had complained about the growing use of abusive language in public places, especially at bus stands.
