COAST REGION, Aug. 1 -- THE newly launched Kwala Industrial Park is expected to generate over 300,000 jobs, revolutionise Tanzanias manufacturing sector and attract billions in foreign investment, Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr Selemani Jafo has said.
Speaking yesterday during the official launch of the park in Kwala, Coast Region, Dr Jafo described the project as a key driver of industrialisation and a cornerstone of the countrys economic transformation agenda.
The industrial park spans more than 1,000 hectares adjacent to the Kwala Inland Dry Port and is set to accommodate over 200 factories once fully developed. Total investment is projected to exceed 3 billion US dollars (about 7.65tri/-).
