TANZANIA, July 5 -- AS the government continues to implement various initiatives to promote Kiswahili, the language is increasingly creating employment opportunities for Tanzanians both at home and abroad.

According to the Executive Secretary of the National Swahili Council (BAKITA), Ms Consolata Mushi, over 170 Tanzanians are currently self-employed in different countries, teaching Kiswahili, a development that reflects the rising global demand for Africas most widely spoken language.
