DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 28 -- FORMER Tanzanian President Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has affirmed that the procedures used to endorse President Samia Suluhu Hassan as CCMs presidential candidate for the upcoming general election are the same ones that have been consistently followed since the introduction of multiparty democracy in Tanzania.

Dr. Kikwete made these remarks today during the official launch of CCMs campaign ahead of the 2025 General Election, scheduled for October 29. The event took place at Tanganyika Packers Grounds in Dar es Salaam, where he expressed surprise at those criticizing the endorsement process.
