Dar es Salaam, Feb. 19 -- ZANZIBAR: DEPUTY Minister for Education and Vocational Training in Zanzibar, Ali Abdulghulam Hussein, has acknowledged that changes to the curriculum have increased the demand for various resources, including qualified teachers for vocational and science subjects.
Responding to a question from Representative Ameir Abdalla Ameir (Mwanakwerekwe Constituency) about how the ministry is addressing the shortage of vocational and science teachers in line with curriculum updates, the deputy minister confirmed that there is still a significant challenge in recruiting teachers for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics—issues faced by many countries worldwide.
