DAR ES SALAAM, June 23 -- INDIA High Commissioner to Tanzania, Mr Bishwadip Dey, has said that the bilateral economic relationship between Tanzania and India is “excellent” and continues to grow steadily in favour of Tanzania.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during the launch of a new India-manufactured SUV, the Mahindra Scorpio, Mr Dey noted that trade between the two countries has increased from 7.9 billion US dollars in the 2023/24 financial year to 8.6 billion US dollars currently.
“This shows that IndiaTanzania trade is growing at a very balanced pace and, importantly, in favour of Tanzania,” he said, adding that Tanzania is now Indias second-largest trading partner in Africa.
