Dar es Salaam, March 19 -- DODOMA: IN a significant showcase of progress, the Government Chemist Laboratory Authority (GCLA) has reported a remarkable increase in the issuance of import permits for chemicals over the past four years of President Samia Suluhu Hassans administration.

The figures reveal a surge from 40,270 permits issued in the 2020/21 financial year to approximately 158,820 permits in the current financial year, marking an impressive 294 per cent increase.

According to the Chief Government Chemist, Dr Fidelice Mafumiko, this notable achievement reflects the governments commitment to enhancing regulatory frameworks and improving the efficiency of chemical management in Tanzania.
