DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 16 -- IRINGA-based wheeler, Ahmed Huwel, has written a golden chapter in the Tanzanian motorsports scene besides winning the National Rally Championship (NRC)title for 2025.

His epic success in the wheeling business for 2025, also handed IrInga Region the NRC title, dethroning the 2024 winner, Dar es Salaam.

Driving the ultramodern Toyota Gazoo, a car of the World Rally Championship (WRC) caliber, Huwel won the national championship after winning three  out of five rounds staged in the 2025 Rally season including the Tanzanian round of the African Rally Championship(ARC).

But to Satinder Birdi, the Chairman of Tanzania Motorsports Commission, Huwel deserved more than the championship trophy.
