Dar es Salaam, April 24 -- DODOMA: THE Ministry of Home Affairs has expressed its commitment to clearing accumulated outstanding debts owed by contractors providing services with the Police Force and Tanzania Prison Service.

The commitment was made here by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs, Daniel Sillo when responding to a main question posed by Tabora Urban lawmaker, Emmanuel Mwakasaka (CCM) who had wanted to know the governments plan to settle debts owed to contractors, particularly those related to the Police and Prisons.

In response, the deputy minister admitted that it is true the two institutions owe the government unpaid debts.
