DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 17 -- TANZANIA has witnessed a sharp rise in internet subscriptions to homes and offices via fibre-optic technologies, reflecting a growing trend toward network optimisation and improved user experience.
According to the December 2025 communications statistics released by Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) Director General, Dr Jabiri Bakari, modern homes and offices increasingly prefer fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and fibre-to-the-office (FTTO) connections due to their superior reliability and speed.
The report shows that FTTH and FTTO subscriptions grew by 157 per cent in just two years, rising from 54,290 in March 2024 to 139,317 in December 2025.
