Dar es Salaam, March 2 -- ZANZIBAR: MINISTER for Blue Economy and Fisheries Mr Shaaban Ali Othman, has stated that the ministry is undertaking various initiatives to educate and encourage citizens to recognise opportunities in marine resource utilisation.

He made the statement in response to a question from Mwanakwerekwe Constituency Representative, Ameir Abdalla Ameir, who inquired about the ministrys efforts to raise awareness and provide guidelines on available marine-based opportunities.

The minister revealed that between 2020 and 2024, a total of 350 awareness programmes on the blue economy and sustainable marine resource use were conducted through meetings, conferences, workshops and media broadcasts.
