Dar es Salaam, Feb. 25 -- DAR ES SALAAM: THE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr Doto Biteko, has commended the Catholic Church for its significant contributions to the welfare of society.

He made the remarks over the weekend in Dar es Salaam while representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the fundraising event for the construction of a new church for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rulenge–Ngara in Kagera Region.

“The Catholic Church has played a vital role in the social service sector and the government continues to recognise and appreciate its contributions to the development of various sectors in the country,” Dr Biteko said.
