ARUSHA, Feb. 19 -- TANZANIAS long-distance star, Gabriel Geay, received a rousing send-off here yesterday as he departed for the 2026 International Daegu Marathon in South Korea, scheduled for February 22.

Speaking during the farewell ceremony, Commonwealth Tourism and Investment Ambassador, Jasmine Kikwete, called on Geay to use the global stage not only to compete but also to showcase Tanzanias rich tourism potential.

Jasmine who doubles as the Blue Visit Tanzania and Blue Visit Zanzibar Director-General, said the Government, under President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi, has intensified efforts to market Tanzania as a premier tourist destination, with visible results.
