Dar es Salaam, July 30 -- On a chilly morning of July 29, 2025, something extraordinary happened in the dusty streets of Mahenge, Songea Municipality. It was not the usual political parade or a ribbon-cutting ceremony with balloons. It was a quiet revolution and it all began with a boy named Arafati, a stomach-crawler in a world built for walkers.
For over eleven long years, Arafati, they young boy with a physical disability has been confined to a room, alone, neglected, and forgotten. With no wheelchair, no caregiver, and barely any love, the boy learned to move using his stomach. Not to play, not to explore, but just to reach a scrap of food. And sometimes, that food?
