DAR ES SALAAM, June 30 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed former Chief Justice Professor Ibrahim Juma as the new Chancellor of the University of Dodoma (UDOM).

According to a statement issued yesterday by the Directorate of Presidential Communications, Prof Juma replaces Dr Stergomena Tax, who currently serves as the Minister for Defence and National Service.

In another appointment, President Samia has named Dr Deo Mwapinga as Ambassador.

Dr Mwapinga currently serves as the Secretary General of the Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR).
