Dar es Salaam, Dec. 4 -- THE Fair Competition Commission (FCC) has successfully decided on 19 cases related to unfair competition in the past year.

FCC Director General, Mr William Erio, said the cases include competitors' plot to conspire against consumers on price fixing cartels, company arbitrary mergers  without approval by FCC and conspiracy theories related to the abuse of market power.

The FCC chief told reporters this week ahead of the World Competition Day which will be held tomorrow.

 Mr Erio said the day will be used to raise awareness and educate the public about FCC activities because statistics show that only 11 per cent are aware of FCC.
