IRINGA, Nov. 7 -- THE government, through the Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA), is continuing to implement a major project for the rehabilitation and expansion of Iringa Airport, as part of efforts to improve air transport services with a focus on safety, efficiency, and international standards.

The project is part of the governments broader strategy to strengthen the countrys transport infrastructure.

So far, the project has reached 97 percent completion, with a total cost of more than 63bn/-.

 Completed works include improvements to the runway and other key infrastructure. In addition, the construction of a new permanent passenger terminal building is underway and it is a good stages.
