SIMIYU, Oct. 7 -- THE Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is stepping up efforts to protect communities from dangerous wildlife by deploying modern technology and innovative approaches, officials said.
The Ministrys Permanent Secretary, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, visited Malwilo in Meatu and Itilima in Simiyu Region to oversee a special operation aimed at equipping wildlife officers with advanced tools to tackle threats from aggressive animals and prevent property damage.
In Meatu, the Ministry handed over drones and received reports confirming the monitoring of seven elephant herds.
