Dar es Salaam, Dec. 1 -- THE Dar es salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) has been challenged to increase the number of female students in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering so that women have equal chances of securing jobs and contributing more to the economy.

The call was made by the Minister for Industries, Trade and investment, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, in a statement read on her behalf by the ministrys director for policy and planning, Mr Alfred Mapunda, during a ceremony to award best performing students in the past academic year.
