Sri Lanka, April 17 -- The Election Commission (EC) states that postal voting in 18 Local Government (LG) institutions, including the Colombo Municipal Council, will be delayed due to the delay in printing Postal Ballot papers in the face of the Interim Injunction that was imposed preventing the conduct of elections in those LG institutions on Sunday (6).
EC Chairman R.M.A.L. Ratnayake said they are currently studying the Court rulings and will inform the printing press about Postal Ballots.
The EC has set the dates for the Postal voting for the LG elections to be held on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th, and in this regard, the distribution of Postal Ballot papers to 227 LG institutions has now been completed. Voters unable to cast their Ballots ...
