Dar es Salaam, Jan. 28 -- DAR ES SALAAM: THE bustling city of Dar es Salaam took a rare pause yesterday for the opening of the Africa Energy Summit.

The city is playing host to a two-day historic energy summit that attracted leaders from across Africa and beyond, all focused on advancing the mission of universal electricity access.

In the early morning, the streets were quieter than usual, with cars carrying distinguished participants heading toward the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC), a venue for the summit.

Here, the spotlight was on Mission 300, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at connecting 300 million people to electricity by 2030.
