IRINGA, May 26 -- DAR ES SALAAM driver Manveer Birdi and his navigator Mameet Singh in a Mitsubishi Evo 9, capped off a memorable weekend with victory in the Mkwawa Rally of Iringa over the weekend.

The victory hands the crew the leadership of the Tanzania National Rally besides defending his last years title

Manveer led from the word go and managed to shrug off stiff opposition from Gurpal Sandhu of Arusha and Dharam Pandya from Dar es Salaam.

“It was a super job to do winning the event and reviving the race for the championship,” said Birdi

Manveer asserted his dominance in the event, edging Arusha challenger, Gurpal Sandhu, to clinch victory by a split second.
