DAR ES SALAAM, May 28 -- DAR ES SALAAM region has recorded a significant milestone in government revenue collection from the mining sector, surpassing its 2024/25 financial year target from the mining sector.

By May 2025, the region had collected 23.02bn/-, exceeding its initial target of 18.36bn/- according to Regional Mining Officer and geologist, Lameck Gabote.

According to Geologist Gabote, the region reached its annual target as early as March and has now achieved 125 percent of the set goal.

Gabote attributed the milestone to robust oversight and effective management of various revenue streams, including royalties, fees, and other levies.
