DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 4 -- THE international cruise ship, Crystal Symphony, has docked at Dar es Salaam Port carrying 522 tourists and 492 crew members, marking another sign of growth in Tanzanias marine tourism sector.
Acting Director of Dar es Salaam Port, Abed Gallus Abed, said the increase in arriving ships is a result of significant improvements in port services, which have made it easier for large cruise ships and cargo vessels to dock.
“Efforts by President Samia Suluhu Hassan through the film The Royal Tour and other international promotional strategies have contributed to attracting more tourists to the country,” Abed said.
