DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 29 -- CITY, municipal, town and district councils have been given a one-week ultimatum within which to submit the status and amount of loans they have in commercial banks.
Councils which have secured the loans and have not started spending the money are supposed to reimburse it to the respective banks with immediate effect, the Minister of State in the President's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government, Mr Selemani Jafo has directed.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, the minister said the loans reports should state the status, what it is intended for, the amount, when was it taken and interest rate.
