MORONI, Feb. 4 -- JOURNALISTS in Comoros have requested the Tanzanian Embassy coordinate the establishment of a Kiswahili Journalists and Broadcasters Association, as an initiative to promote the use of the language in the media sector in the Indian Ocean Isles.

The request was submitted by veteran journalist Rachidi Ali during an official meeting with Tanzanian Ambassador to Comoros, Saidi Yakubu. Rachidi highlighted that many journalists in Comoros are eager to learn and use Kiswahili, and that the association would help encourage other broadcasters to use the language professionally.
