Dar es Salaam, July 1 -- DR Akinwunmi Adesina, outgoing President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), recently raised concerns about Nigerias economic trajectory, highlighting a stark decline in GDP per capita from 1,847 US dollars in 1960 to a projected 824 US dollars in 2025.

This suggests a significant erosion of economic well-being since independence. This observation calls for a critical reassessment of how economic growth is measured in relation to citizens lived realities.
