COAST REGION, Jan. 30 -- THE Coast Region has launched a major cashew nut expansion programme to nearly triple annual output from 25,000 tonnes to 73,400 tonnes by 2030, boosting regional income and export potential.
Coast Regional Commissioner Mr Abubakar Kunenge unveiled the strategy in Rufiji District during the rollout of 1.5 million improved cashew nut seedlings to farmers, highlighting the focus on modern agricultural technologies and improved planting materials.
