ARUSHA, Feb. 19 -- TANZANIA is gearing up to modernise its cooperative sector with a strong push for the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Speaking at the 6th eGovernment Annual Meeting, which concludes today in Arusha, Registrar and CEO of the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission (TCDC) Dr Benson Ndiege highlighted the crucial role of ICT in modernising the countrys cooperative sector.

Dr Ndiege said that the integration of digital systems would not only streamline operations but also enhance governance, accountability and transparency, which are pivotal elements for the sectors future growth.
